Sparkling water + CBD= ❤

Long time no see on this blog! It is so true what they say about time… it goes by way too fast! But I have returned to the blogging world and have some new exciting things in the works! I want to start with something super exciting: A giveaway with Present CBD-Infused Sparkling Water!

When Present CBD-Infused Sparkling Water first reached out to me to try out their product, I was very intrigued from the get go. If you know me at all, you know that I have an obsession with sparkling water so they had me right there. But then they went a step further by adding CBD into the mix. How can I say no?? Plot twist: I said yes!

If you’re not familiar with CBD, here’s the lowdown: CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring component of the cannabis plant. Rich in natural cannabinoids, CBD is federally legal, non-psychoactive and can be safely consumed as part of a daily diet. Some of the noted benefits of CBD include but not limited to: better sleep, reduced anxiety, lowered inflammation, clear skin, faster muscle recovery, improved digestion, reduced stress, elevated mood, enhanced focus, concentration, and clarity.

Now, that all sounds good and all but I needed to actually try out the product myself and see if it’s something I can stand behind. I’ve been drinking Present CBD-Infused Sparkling Water for a month or so now, mainly when I feel stressed or need to be more focused. I have noticed that it immediately calms me down, lowers my stress level, which in turn lets me be more focused on whatever task I have to do. That in itself is a game changer especially for someone like me who is trying to excel in school , excel in my career , excel in life in general. I will take whatever help I can get ☺

Adaptogenic Protein Bites ♥

These bites are so delicious and oh so easy to make! I am a big fan of adaptogen elixirs to anything I make and these are no exception! For this one, I used Wylde One’s Immune Shrooms. Per their website:

“Immune Shrooms is a powerful, synergistic combination of immune-boosting mushrooms and adaptogenic herbs to help strengthen, protect, and balance the immune system. This anti-inflammatory, antioxidant-rich elixir is great for when you’re feeling worn down, fatigued, and need to revitalize your body and recharge your immune system. Also great taken daily to support overall vitality and wellbeing.”

I am all about that! I mean, winter is on its way, and it’s definitely getting colder, even here in NC so I love anything that will help my immune system. And of course I added some protein powder in there because a little protein never hurt anyone ♥

Here’s how I  made my bites:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of dates (softened in warm water for 10 mins)
  • 3/4 cup of oats
  • 1 packet of Wylde One Immune Shrooms (optional)
  • 1 scoop of protein powder (I used Huel)
  • 1 tbsp of walnuts 
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp of almond butter

Directions:

  • pulse all ingredients in a food processor until it’s smooth and clump into a ball
  • use your hands and form mixture into balls
  • enjoy right away or put in the fridge to harden a bit, depends on you! Either way, it’s delicious!

Philly 2018 Girls Trip!

“In West Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground is where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school

I had no idea how to start this blog post but Fresh Prince came to my head when I thought about Philly so it just made sense to start with the song, right? 😬 Anywhooo!

This time last week, I went to Philadelphia for the first time with 3 of my girlfriends to attend The Good Fest, a Wellness Festival, “A full day experience that will challenge and excite you – and leave you happier, healthier, and more fulfilled than when you arrived.” – and boy, did it deliver!

We arrived in Philly very early Friday morning, dropped off our bags in our hotel, and then explored a little bit. And by explore, I mean we walked around to look for food… and I was oh so pleasantly surprised how many vegan options there are in Philly! For our first day, I went to Hip City Veg and ordered the Udon Noodle Salad. Laaawwwd, I am still dreaming about that salad. I cannot recommend it enough.

Then it was time to check in to our hotel. GUYS. We stayed at The Windsor Suites and I cannot recommend them enough. I am definitely staying there next time I’m in Philly. First of all, central location. Second, our suite was AHHHMAZING AND HUGE. Third, the customer service was out of this world. I made a quick video tour of our hotel room with a disclaimer that I am not a videographer and I have no idea how to edit videos 😝 But I really wanted to show off this suite!!

We also had the sweetest welcome from the staff: goodies from Whole Foods and local PA coffee!

Before we knew it, it was Saturday and it was off to The Good Fest! I actually didn’t take a lot of pictures because I was too busy enjoying the speakers and activities but here are some that I took. My favorite speakers were Ruby Warrington who wrote “Material Girl, Mystical World” and Shan Boodram who talked about how to Keep to keep your vag poppin … Yep, you read that right 😝

No Bake Cashew Butter Bar

Are you looking for a delicious, healthy-ish, snack? breakfast? bar? Look no further than this recipe … No Bake Cashew Butter Bar 😍

This bar is delicious for an on-the-go breakfast, post workout fuel, or anytime you’re crazing a sweet snack! For this recipe, I used ingredients that I already had in my pantry but you can definitely switch the ingredients to whatever you have in your pantry, i.e., protein powder, nut butter, etc!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Huel powder
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup of cashew butter (I used Georgia Grinders)
  • 3-4 tbsp of Birdseed Kasha Crunch Granola (I used this because it already had coconut flakes, kasha, pumpkin seeds, etc. but if you don’t have this specific granola, you can really top the bar with anything you want like coconut flakes, chia seeds, goji berries, etc!)

Directions:

  • Melt coconut oil and combine with cashew butter.
  • Add all ingredients and stir to combine
  • Spread mixture into a baking dish and stick in the fridge for at least half an hour
  • Enjoy!!!!

Vegan DELICIOUS Banana Bread!

YOU GUYS. This banana bread recipe is insane. I didn’t add any type of sweetener- no sugar, agave, maple syrup, honey, NONE OF THAT, but it was still sweet enough and oh so delicious! I could’ve probably eaten the whole pan but I had some sort of self control 😅 Who said banana bread couldn’t be healthy?? So without further adieu, here’s your new favorite banana bread recipe 😜

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 3 tablespoons chia pudding (2 tbsp chia seeds soaked in 3 tbsp water or almond milk)
  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/2 cup of your favorite nut butter
  • 1 cup oat flour ( I made my own by using 1 cup of Trader Joes GF oats and making it into a flour using my magic bullet)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup of walnuts (optional)

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven 350 °
  • Mix all ingredients except walnuts in a bowl
  • Pour mixture into a 9 inch banana bread pan
  • Top with walnuts if adding
  • Bake for 50 mins
  • ENJOY and try not to eat the whole pan in one sitting 😝
